Antique scrimshaw yardstick made of partridge wood with whale ivory ends.  Diamond shaped silver inlays on the front indicate 9 inch or 1/4 yard divisions.   The reverse side is inlaid with narrow copper strips showing 4 1/2 inch or  1/8 yard divisions.  Very nice condition with several copper strips missing. 19th C. 36 in. long.  Nantucket origin.
