Noted American marine artist and illustrator, Gordon Grant was born in San Francisco in 1875. He studied art in London, worked for Harper's Weekly, and was a Member of the National Academy of Design. He spent much of his career painting along the New England coast. He died in 1962 in New York City. He is represented at Mystic Seaport, NY Historical Society, New Bedford Whaling Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art and in many other collections. A series of signed lithographs issued by the Associated American Artists were issued in the 1940's and 50's, several of which are offered here.
